This Pod Cast deals with the fact that the solution the West is pushing for today was put on the table by Syria and Russia in 2012 when Syrians approved a new Constitution which calls for multi-party elections. At the time, the West, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar thought they could overthrow the Syrian government. Now that they have to admit defeat, and while they still threten to attack Syria, they are trying to save one of the last Jihadi bastions so they have some cards to play at the negotiating table.
I am including the script below:
Emmanuel Macrons says Europe can no longer rely on the US for its security. He is calling for a European defense initiative which could sideline Nato and has begun bilateral talks with potentially willing EU members. He is even ready to discuss a separate security partnership with Russia. But so far the response is cautious. Europe does not seem ready for France to lead another Grande Armée.
French President Emmanuel Macron has set up an anti-terrorist ‘Task Force’ which, once approved by parliament, sets the foundations for a police state. The Task Force will be directly under the control of the president with the power to set house arrest, day and night searches without warrant, shutting down prayer rooms and putting people in preventive detention with no judicial oversight.
A Center for the deradicalization of Muslim extremists set up in Central France last September is empty. The last man to be “treated” at the chateau of Pontourny, in Beaumont-en-Véron, left on February 8. Although France has listed thousands as “radicalized” in the police data banks, there were never more than six or seven at any given time and only nine people ever volunteered for the center which can house up to 30.
The Berlin Christmas Market attack should never have happened. How could the German police get it so wrong? German voters will decide in September who can best protect them and the freedom they love.
Stuttgart, January 15, 2016: Germany is already in full campaign mode with nine months to go until the elections and the public want to know who will keep them safe? After a year of terror attacks and terror threats and other forms of migrant violence, politicians are falling over themselves to reassure the public. But all agree, the Berlin Christmas Market attack could have been prevented; that “mistakes were made,” and “we must learn from our errors.”
France has some 15,000 Salafist radicals and nearly 2,000 French nationals have gone to Syria and Iraq to fight Jihad, according to French authorities. The French government has shut down scores of radical mosques, Koranic schools and associations since the State-of-Emergency was decreed in November 2015. Today the debate focusses on the estimated five million Muslims in France (nobody knows how many for sure) who are accused, like the “good Germans” of Nazi days, of not stepping forward to denounce what they may see or hear.
“The first casualty of war is the truth.”
Reporting on Syria in the Western media is as close to fake news as propaganda can get. It is the most one-sided and on-side messaging we have seen since NATO intervened in Libya to put Sunni extremists and al Qaeda sympathizers in power.
First, the rebels in Aleppo are al Qaeda’s Jabhat al Nusra Front forced by the US to change their name last Summer to Jabhat Fatah al-Sham. These are Sunni extremists who slit throats on camera, kill minorities, especially Christians and Shiites, throw civil servants off the roves of five-story buildings (people like postal workers and clerks), send suicide bombers into markets and so on. (see 2013 BBC report) These are the people the United States, Saudi Arabia and Turkey have been financing, arming, training and now the loyal western press crying over.
