Anti-government protests and rioting against Covid restrictions are rocking the EU from Holland to Greece, Germany and France to the UK and Italy. Measures taken to prevent the healthcare system from breaking down under Covid have strained our democracies to the breaking point.
Whether Eric Zemmour announces his candidacy on December 5 at a major rally in Paris or not, he has already won the presidential elections. His tough talk defending his vision of France, its culture and history, what he calls a “civilizational battle” against “an immigrant invasion imposing a foreign civilisation on France,” has determined what the next president must promise he will do once elected.
The Left and Greens have been reduced to ashes where most hover between one and eight percent of voter intent, and Macron can do at best in the first round vote 23%. The big question is will people vote this time? Zemmour may be the catalyst but he is a victim of his own success.
Steve Bannon has plans for France and is taking a keen interest in the rising right-wing pundit, Eric Zemmour, a French born Berber (North African Arab) Jew who wants to Make France Great Again.
Cabals and conspiracies exist and should not be shunned aside because of Q-crazies. Stephan Wertheim’s book “Tomorrow the World: The Birth of U.S. Global Supremacy” (Harvard, 2020), illustrates exhaustively that the blueprint of everything evil the U.S. has done in the world over the past 80 years, was devised in the highest circles of U.S. power between 1939 and Pearl Harbor.
What is baffling is that so many who are ready to condemn American aggression and folly in Vietnam, Iraq, or Afghanistan, still try to find justification for the U.S. as a defender of some elusive “liberty” which required 500,000 people to be killed in a military coup in Indonesia, a brutal dictatorship installed in Iran which led to the Islamic Republic, up to four million killed in Vietnam, a million in Iraq and the list is endless.
France is pushing ahead with its mandate that people present a Covid passport showing they are fully vaccinated for access to public venues, bars and restaurants, shopping malls, supermarkets, public transportation and so forth. Under the new law, a negative Covid test will not grant you access to public areas. The first decree goes into effect this week and the Bill should be rubber-stamped by President Macron’s majority in Parliament in early January. There is widespread resistance by those who don’t want the vaccine but still want their freedom.
Some say it is a totalitarian move, apartheid, a health dictatorship; others claim that it is the only way to get French people to accept to be vaccinated and stop the spread of Covid. The one thing everybody agrees on is that, if you want a life, and a job, after mid-September, you will need to prove you have had both Covid shots at all times.
Massive abstention in French Regional Elections not only delegitimises the results, but demonstrates the French have lost confidence in the system. History shows that the French will vote with their feet in the streets. There will be blood.
If the French don’t mobilize for this Sunday’s second round of voting in Regional elections, it doesn’t mean they don’t care. It just means they will find a different, more violent, way to express themselves.
If the government does nothing to stop “the disintegration” provoked by “Islamism and the hordes in the banlieue” then “tomorrow civil war will end the growing chaos, and the dead, for whom you carry the responsibility, will be counted in the thousands.”
That is the dire warning issued on April 13 and signed by some 1,300 retired Officers, including 23 generals, NCOs and other veterans of the French military. But it wasn’t until April 21 that the letter was made public by the conservative weekly Valeurs Actuelles. Since then, it has been a civil war of words between the left, the government and those on the right.
